Happy Friday 🎉
As the sun streams through the conservatory window onto my desk, I chug a glass of water with my eyes closed and instantly I’m sitting by the side of the pool in a hot country. I open my eyes and my emails are staring back at me. Reality. But it was so easy to escape for five minutes. Especially in our conservatory, where it gets freezing cold in the winter but sweltering hot as soon as the sun comes out.

A meal plan (because I sometimes hate doing this job, so hoping it saves you from having to wrack your brains deciding what’s for tea.)
News from Northumberland and beyond.
Check out this post for ideas on how to make the most of the outdoors this spring.
I think this sounds brilliant - Fire Easter eggs at Bamburgh Castle!
If you head along in the Easter holidays you can decorate and weight an egg before launching it from a trebuchet catapult and see how far it flies! They’ve also got other spring/Easter themed events happening if you are planning a trip over there.
If you are planning on travelling this Easter holidays, Girl About Travel have put together this really useful guide on how to avoid the Easter holiday traffic.
I also loved reading this article from a fellow Girl About writer, on a City Break to Cluj – How to spend a weekend in Transylvania, Romania. I spoke to Fay about visiting as a family and she said because of the friendliness and laid back vibes, it’s fab for a family city break. It was never on my radar before but now it most definitely is! You can fly from Leeds or London.
The Rainy Day Corner.
💡Make an Easter Tree. Perhaps on a sunnier day, go foraging for a good few branches/sticks (depending on how big or small you want your tree). Then on a rainy day, you can make decorations from basic Easter crafts like the little chicks or foam eggs that you can decorate. I spotted some great carrot decorations in the Works for £1.
💡Make homemade Easter cards. I thought some of these looked really sweet and easy to do.
What’s for tea.
Here’s our meal plan for this week. I always struggle to feel inspired writing the meal plan, so hopefully this might give you some inspiration, if you feel the same.
This week I’m sneaking a summer spaghetti in because the weather has had me dreaming of those warm evenings… recipe for this is spaghetti, cherry tomatoes, chopped bacon and sliced green beans. Once everything is cooked, stir in a full tub of Tzatziki. Serve with warm baguette. Yummy!
Have a wonderful weekend 🐣
