Happy Friday 🎉
This weekend we are celebrating my first borns 12th birthday! Twelve years I have been a mother, yet it feels like five minutes since he was born. All clichés apply… time goes too fast/you blink and the time has gone/they aren’t little for long. All so true.
So while I go and take a minute to let this sink in, here is this weeks newsletter. ❤️
This newsletter will land in your inbox every Friday morning and includes:
Travel - A round up from Northumberland and beyond.
Kids - A “Rainy Day Corner”
A meal plan (because I sometimes hate doing this job, so hoping it saves you from having to wrack your brains deciding what’s for tea.)
News from Northumberland and beyond.
Don’t forget Meta4 Dance are putting on a live performance at the Alnwick Garden on Saturday 24th May.
Just in case you happened to miss the incredible sightings of Orcas last week around the Farne Islands 😍 aren’t we lucky to have them come and visit?
Plan ahead for father’s day: Bamburgh Castle are hosting a jousting weekend. They are limiting how many can visit the castle that day, so you probably need to book in advance. You can do that here.
This one is for any budding solo travellers out there: Girl About Solo Travel has joined the ranks and will be sharing top tips for female solo travel. Follow her on Instagram for inspiration.
Here I share the best places in Northumberland for fish and chips - yummy!
The Rainy Day Corner.
Our kind neighbour has started dropping off vegetables from his allotment. He does this every year. There’s no knock at the door, just a parcel waiting when we go out. So kind!
Anyway, I over stocked on vegetables and we have some left over. I found this old reel of the classic: potato printing, and thought it might be a good one to share for a rainy day activity. Nice and simple!
What’s for tea.
Here’s our meal plan for this week. I always struggle to feel inspired writing the meal plan, so hopefully this might give you some inspiration, if you feel the same.
This week’s menu looks a little fancy pants… I signed up to Hello Fresh on a whim. I sometimes do this, every now and again. It’s fun choosing different meals. The box arrives with tiny packets containing a gazillion ingredients (we are a family of five but everything is sent in portions for two people, so that’s a lot of “stuff”) then I cancel the subscription. I just can’t get away with it. Do you like/use it? I think if you live by yourself or are a couple it’s okay perhaps…
Anyway…exciting meals this week including party food!
Have a lovely weekend,
Love Beth x 🌷
