"June is the gateway to summer." - Jean Hersey
Hello and happy Friday!
We are just enjoying the very last day of May and I’m already moving on to June. However, I’m going to be a little busy on the 1st June, as Steve and I take part in the Trek26 in the Lake District. The backpacks are bulging with snacks and spare socks, blister plasters and dare I say it, a bottle of suncream? The forecast looks good 🤞🏻
I am kick starting your summer a day early… and here’s hoping we have a summer to enjoy this year, after last years wash out.
The hedgerows are blooming, we are waking to the sound of birdsong and it is still light when I go to bed. Yipee! Summer is on its way and everything is looking beautiful here in the Northumberland countryside.
This week I have a delicious sounding gin recipe that I saw on the Internet. I think it is okay to share it here too? And the joy of finally having a breakthrough with a picture book I have been struggling to write for over a year.
So pop the kettle on and take five minutes to unwind ahead of the weekend.
