Hi Beth, much enjoyed reading this - I travelled to Durham today to the Christmas Market there. My first visit and I was Impressed. The snow beautifully set off the countryside as I travelled from Blaydon and of course it offered even more majesty to the Cathedral in whose shadow the market takes place. I'm on my own this Christmas but it isn't stopping me getting into the 'spirit' and I couldn't help buying myself lots of treats. I may be 67 not 6 or 7 but I also have an Advent calendar, however giving my early-ish start refrained from breakfast chocolate. That treat lies ahead this evening. Trust you and yours have a wonderful Christmas - it seems you've made an excellent start ...
Durham is somewhere I have never visited despite living only an hour (I think) away. In particular the Cathedral must look splendid at this time of year and I do love a Christmas market! I am pleased to hear you are enjoying your advent calendar, I think these will always be a bit special/exciting. Have a lovely festive month and thank you as ever for reading. Beth 😊
OK - New Years resolution (although I confess I don't make resolutions - I prefer to make promises to myself or others) is for you to visit Durham (I had my first date there some 53 years ago)

Happy anniversary and birthday!! I hope your December is absolutely lovely.
Thank you! It hasn't started quite as excitedly as we imaged with child illness but that is to be expected at this time of year 😅
